Applications for selection to the WestVic Academy of Sport Regional Pathway close on this date.

We invite Ballarat Rowing Clubs and Schools (Under 18) to have their rowing talent identified  and apply for the ‘Regional Rowing Pathway Program’.  A program jointly delivered by FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport and Rowing Victoria.

The program, operating in the off-season, provides a host of services designed to develop your rowing abilities for the coming season and, simultaneously, open up possibilities for future seasons. These services include:

• On-water work with specialist coaches
• Off-water work around:
  • Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • Musculoskeletal Screening, Fitness Testing and Strength and Conditioning.

These services will be delivered via a series of one-day camps.

The 2015 program will be a ‘pilot program’, delivered in an abbreviated timeframe, so to be completed in time for the start of the 2015/2016 Rowing season. In terms of a calendar of events, we are looking at the following dates for trials/selections and then delivery:

• Sunday June 21 > testing for selection (with athletes notified the following day)
• Friday June 26 > deadline for acceptance of offer
• Sunday July 12 > camp #1
• Sunday August 2 > camp #2
• Sunday August 23 > camp #3
• Sunday September 13 > camp #4

The cost  of this fantastic opportunity, if you prove successful in your application,  is anticipated to be $310+ GST. This base fee covers all activities (except for small incidental costs around coaching that may be necessary later).
