NATIONAL UNDERAGE TEAM ANNOUNCED

Congratulations to all Victorian athletes, coaches, and their crews, selected in this year’s National Underage Team. See all selected crews via the button below.

It is a fantastic result and reward for all your efforts and those of your families, friends, coaches, schools, and clubs.

Our athletes and their crews will compete at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Varese, Italy, between the 27th and 31st of July. 🇮🇹

VICTORIAN MEN'S MASTERS 8+ & PR3

The Rowing Victoria board congratulates the following State Members for selection in 2022, to compete at the upcoming Australian Masters Rowing Championships.

With our other Masters crews previously announced, we now look forward to a full compliment representing Victoria in the home waters at Lake Wendouree.

We look forward to cheering you on and are confident you will make Victoria proud! 💙

VIS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

For only the third time in the 31-year history of the Victorian Institute of Sport, there were joint winners of the coveted Award of Excellence, with Tokyo gold medallists Dylan Alcott OAM and rowers Lucy Stephan OAM, Jessica Morrison OAM and Rosie Popa OAM (Women’s Four), sharing the honours.

Lucy, Jessica and Rosie were three of the four members that won gold in the Women’s Coxless Four event at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The 2020 Games saw the return of the Women’s Four event to the Olympic rowing program after a 30-year absence. Australia topped the podium after narrowly holding off the Netherlands by less than half a second to win gold with a time of 6:15.37 — an Olympic record — while Ireland came third.

Congratulations ladies! ⭐️

MASTERS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Thank you to all clubs who attended the Masters State Championship in Nagambie last weekend!

There was a mix of conditions, including some eerie fog, however plenty of smiling faces ensured it was a great weekend. Congratulations to all winners across the two days, with some impressive rowing on display!

A massive thank you again to Perfect Balance Rowing, who presented Nagambie Rowing Club with their new Swift Club B single scull, valued at $4,990, to recognise their volunteer support at the Australian Rowing Championships (top left).

We look forward to cheering you all on at the upcoming #AMRC22.

 Stay Safe, Stay Rowing!

WATERWAY ACCESS & INCIDENT REPORTING

Could all waterway users please ensure they are acquainted with their local waterway rules; traffic direction, turning points, stationary obstacles etc.

So that RV, Maritime Safety Victoria and now, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority can support the community in providing safe waterways, please register all incidents via the RV Report an Incident tile on the home page of the RV website.

A consistent management of reporting will assist us in ensuring we are kept safe on the water and the chances of equipment damage is mitigated.

BIKE USAGE ALONG THE YARRA RIVER

With the great number of coaches coaching from bicycles along the Yarra River it is important to ensure that this is always done in a safe and considerate manner to all other pathway users.

A friendly reminder:

  • Helmets must be worn
  • When stopping, pull completely off the path
  • Do not block the path
  • Do not use mobile phones while riding
