This will be one of a series of RV Coaching Seminars held by the Victorian Rowing Coaches' Network (VRCN) throughout the 2016-2017 season, primarily to benefit coaches.
Club/school administrators, athletes, parents and friends are more than welcome.
The topic of this seminar is Energy Efficient Rowing. The seminar will consider how good coaches minimise the wasting of their effort and the effort of their rowers. Central to the seminar is making rowers more energy-efficient as a significant contribution to a faster boat. The practices of successful coaches and the 'technical model' used by successful rowers will be given close attention. The seminar is suitable for all levels of rowing and coaching competency.
The seminar, delivered by Andrew O'Brien*, will begin by considering the theory of rowing efficiency before providing practical examples and applications. Attendees will then be invited to ask questions and contribute to discussion, guaranteeing the seminar's relevance to their own rowing circumstances.
*Andrew O'Brien (RV Club Development), is a widely experienced rowing coach, author, rowing manager and educator.
Please be sure to register for this event early as places are limited (and ignore the prompt to log in when registering).
