ROWING VICTORIA'S COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY

Rowing Victoria is committed to ensuring that children and young people who participate in our activities have a safe and happy experience. Rowing Victoria has a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and is committed to promoting and protecting all children from abuse and neglect to the greatest extent possible, regardless of their sex, religion, disability, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation. Rowing Victoria is also committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, and those from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Child protection is a shared responsiblity between Rowing Victoria and the entire Victorian Rowing Community. Together we can provide an environment where all children and young people feel included, safe, respected, valued, and empowered.

NATIONAL INTEGRITY FRAMEWORK (NIF)

As of July 1 2022, Rowing Australia and all state bodies are covered under the National Integrity Framework (NIF). The NIF is one of Rowing Australia’s responses to the threats to the integrity of rowing and sets out the broad expectations for the conduct of all Participants in rowing, including procedures for managing, reporting, investigating and determining potential breaches of its Integrity Policies. For information surrounding the NIF and sport integrity, please see the key policies below, with further explanation available via the Rowing Australia website.

Please note that any incidents that occured prior to July 1 2022 will not be covered by the framework and will need to be dealt with under the previous Member Protection Policy. Please report these, and any incidents after July 1 2022 that fall outside the scope of the NIF, directly to Rowing Victoria via an Incident Report.

Please note that Child Safety requirements under the NIF are currently under review.
