Marketing, particularly the use of digital platforms and social media, is becoming a vital component in the sustainability and growth of all sporting clubs. Social media is a fantastic and easy to use tool that can assist in promoting your clubs activities and achievements, as well as a great place to recruit new club members! Check out the resources below to help build your marketing presence.

WHERE TO BEGIN?

Outline & fill key role/s

Creating specific roles outside of the 'Executive' committee can help make the tasks less daunting and attract members of the club who are looking to assist in a more casual capacity.

To provide more clarity about what is required you may choose to provide position descriptions for particular roles (see examples below).

You may find that members of your club already have the skills or qualifications to assist - have a think about who at your club might be interested in lending a hand!

Create & link platforms

It's important to consider the various avenues of communication you would like to use. Setting up a website and your social media accounts is a great place to start.

To minimise work hours, social media accounts can be linked and content can be scheduled.

Create & share content

Once set up, you can start to plan your communications strategy and begin sharing!

Having a plan or content calendar helps ensure you are conveying your messages at appropriate times, and not missing anything important.

Photos are key. Whether a club member has a camera, or you simply use your phone, remember to get those important snaps!

Canva is a fantastic, easy-to-use program for content creation, with lots of quick templates & graphics available to use & edit.
