Published Tue 08 May 2018

Tasmania is set to welcome Masters Rowers from across Australia, and New Zealand, this week as part of the 2018 Australian Masters Rowing Championships. Lake Barrington will host 888 competitors, who will be racing in over 300 races, from 10-13 May.

With 1472 entries, rowers are coming from the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and New Zealand for the event. The number of competitors racing at this year’s regatta will surpass that of the 2011 Tasmanian-hosted event, by over 150 rowers.

Rowing Australia CEO, Ian Robson said: “We wish all the competitors racing at this year’s Australian Masters Rowing Championships the very best of luck. We are sure Lake Barrington and Rowing Tasmania will be wonderful hosts for the Masters rowers competing this coming weekend. I am very much looking forward to ‘coming home’ and watching some great Masters races.”

Rowing Victoria wishes all of our Masters' rowers great rowing down in Tasmania this week for the 2018 Australian Masters Rowing Championships (Thursday, May 10 - Sunday, May 13)
