MELBOURNE HEAD POSTPONED
Following consultation with Melbourne Water, Parks Victoria, Maritime Safety Victoria and regatta co-host the Upper Yarra Rowing Club, the Melbourne Head regatta is postponed to the following weekend; Saturday November 26 2022.
With further rainfall predicted in the Yarra Catchment area over the next few days and moderate flood warnings currently in place for sections of the Upper Yarra River, the ability to operate a safe regatta for all participants this Saturday has been extremely compromised.
Entries have been reopened and then close on Monday November 21 at 1.00pm.
We hope that any disruption caused by this postponement is minimal.
Unfortunately, the Barwon River is currently in minor flood with water levels rising. This is likely to compromise the Dec 3 scheduled RV Schoolgirls regatta. We will keep the community informed of any changes to the regatta.
As a repeat note of caution, please consider the river conditions before venturing out to train.
