RV Coaching Accreditation Grants

Published Wed 19 Jan 2022

The Rowing Australia Coach Development Pathway signifies the commitment of Rowing Australia and all Coaches within its Community - to ongoing and continuous education in the pursuit of more effective coaching.

Becoming an accredited rowing coach is an important step in ensuring that Clubs and Schools are providing a quality service for its athletes. The National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) is Australia’s system of training and accrediting coaches in all sports, including rowing. The NCAS is an initiative of Sport Australia (previously the Australian Sports Commission) and is a progressive coach education program offering courses at various levels.

A coach’s role in Victoria is essential in managing athlete development, the safety of the athlete(s) but is also aiming to protect the athlete(s) and all stakeholders through the sport. Rowing Victoria is determined to assist all Clubs and Schools in delivering a quality rowing service for all participants and recommends that all coaches hold a RA coaching accreditation.

To assist, Rowing Victoria is allocating a pool of $5,000 to be allocated across the state to assist individuals in completing a Level 1 or 2 NCAS qualification. Up to $350 will be allocated per individual.
