AUSTRALIAN MASTERS ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Well done to all Victorians who competed at the recent Australian Masters Rowing Championships at Champion Lakes, Western Australia. We were pleased to see plenty of success at club and state level across the four days of racing.
It was a fantastic overall performance from our Victorian Masters Team, including podium finishes for all five crews, once again highlighted by the performance of our Women’s Quad.
The crew of Lee-Anne Martin, Ebony Ebenwaldner, Sarah Sekfy, and Tanja Nishibata finished in 3:34.49, with a +3.15 margin over New South Wales, marking Victoria's 9th consecutive victory in the event. The Men's Quad and Women's Eight almost joined them atop the podium, falling just short by two and seven seconds respectively.
Special mention also to Melbourne RC for dominating the Club Point Score, with MUBC (3rd), Yarra Yarra RC (4th), Carrum (5th), and Corio Bay (7th) also finishing in the top ten.
We also saw strong individual performances, with Victorians taking out both Champion of Champions races, as well as four in the top ten of the Athlete Point Score. Congratulations to Tanja Nishibata (Melbourne RC) and Justin Negri (Yarra Yarra RC) on their victories.
Catch up on all the #AMRC26 results.
